Rules & Guidelines for the Great Catastrophe (Back-story)

Site Timeline: As a rule of thumb the site timeline stands several years after the end of Dragonball Z, so everything in Dragonball and Dragonball Z happened - with some partial extended universe events also (see Planet and Race information for further details on the extend universe). Though understanding this limits members to characters at a specific age, if they choose a canon, we are focused on the further development of characters and the DBZ universe on this site. If this doesn’t suit you then creating an Original Character might be better suited, as you mould them however you see fit. There will also be an area on the site where members will be able to RP their characters from a stage in the past, to allow more creative freedom.
Clause to the Site Timeline rules 01: This is directly tied into the Memory Erase rule below, which will allow canon character slightly more freedom.
Clause to the Site Timeline rules 02: Though set on a specific timeline, we will allow the age of characters to vary slightly from what they should roughly be. Due to DBZ having not specified ages properly on the show, we will be somewhat lenient with the chosen age - within reason.
The Reset: This means that all characters will be starting from the most minimal of Stats on this RPG upon joining this site. Though normal for anyone joining a new site, we have many people joining with characters they wish to continue from another site (Rising Star), and so this is mainly just to clarify that even those characters are effected by the reset and all previous stats will be negated. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Memory Erase: When joining the site in the wake of the Back-story, all members have the chance to erase a significant portion of their characters memory, resetting them back to an early point in their life, though this may very well effect a characters alignment. This is entirely optional and there is an alternative choice for members who wish to continue ongoing storylines with their characters, meaning they can forget as little as they like (perhaps forgetting nothing at all).
Clause to the Memory Erase rules 01: No matter how much a person forgets about their past - whether it canon past or a previously developed - it will not effect their physical body. So if someone plays Goten and decides to reset his memory to roughly the Buu saga, he would still have the physical body of a teenager (due to the preset timeline). So please take this into account.
Clause to the Memory Erase rules 02: If the change in a Canon character is overly radical, as there is a rule that all Canons should begin on the site roughly how they were seen last on the shows, then it will not be allowed. Once again, we want to push for development, not instant change. This will be down to the discretion of the Admins, so please discuss anything you feel may be a problem with them in advance.
