General Rules & Guidelines
Plagiarism: Plagiarism is the act of taking someone else's words, phrases, thoughts, or ideas and claiming them to be your own, original work (dictionary.com). The act of plagiarism is a serious crime in the writing world, for it takes the blood, sweat, and tears someone else has put into their own masterpiece. It does not make you look cool, or better, or smart.
Plagiarism will not be tolerated in any form on Dragonball: Retribution. If you are caught plagiarizing in any way, shape, or form you will be given a few days after a notification to make the appropriate changes to the item in question. If complied to, there will be no further punishment on your part for the act; however, if you do not make the appropriate changes, your account will be banned for an indefinite amount of time (you will be unbanned when we get the changes in a post and accepted/confirmed by one of the staff members). If you are caught plagiarizing a second time, it will be the final straw; you will be permanently banned with no chance of appeal. These rules will vary depending on the seriousness of the offence.
Personal Issues & Drama: While we understand that everyone goes through tough times in life, we do not want personal issues being brought to the site and/or disrupting it. The site is made as a place of escape for its members, so personal issues and unnecessary drama will hinder this experience. This also includes allow any issues or out-of-site drama to affect your actions/words within the site. Much in the same way as if you would do if you had an issue with another member, keep all issues and drama to something akin to AIM.
Clause to the Personal Issues & Drama rules 01: Though these issues are often of a personal nature, which a person may not want to disclose, if for any reasons they begin to affect any other site members the issue will instantly become a Staff matter and the Admins will get involved.
Swearing: Try to keep swearing at a minimal, though there’s no saying you cannot swear. We understand you can make a point and show your characters personality better by using these, sometimes, but try not to go over the top. Words that are racist or segregate someone directed to in OOC format (for example, calling someone a cock on the OOC board is different from a character calling another one a cock) in extreme, are not permitted.
Sexual Content: There is no problem with two characters (or more, I guess) having any form of sexual intercourse. But there are only two things we ask you do before you go into it. First of all, things such as kissing, hugging, and flirting, etc. are completely fine, but if it gets very intimate then please make a warning somewhere in your thread before you go into it. Secondly, if you are someone who doesn't like this kind of stuff, then just don't read it. It is not our problem if you get offended. But if someone goes into it without warning, please notify us.
Clause to the Sexual Content rules 01: Rape, although a terrible thing, is allowed on this site in extreme conditions. We understand that some characters will want to develop their evil nature, and in doing so this may be involved. As above as warning must be placed at the top of the thread depicting the sexual nature of the thread. If it involved a character and an NPC then that is fine, but if it involved two characters then (as with character death) OOC permission MUST be acquired first.
Clause to the Sexual Content rules 02: Molesting or other forms of sexual abuse, for the reasons stated in the above rule, are accepted and are covered in much the same as fighting, in the sense that it is guided by the Auto-Hit rule system. This means that Godmoding this against another character is a break in the rules.
