Time Machine
Basis: Initially, the time machine can be bought from the Capsule Corp. shop, or whatever the general everyone-can-use shop is called, with one free use. This free use will have a limited number of time periods; Goku's childhood, The Saiyan Saga, The Android/Cell Saga, and the Buu Saga. By going to any of those periods, you'd be able to train with pre-under powered Roshi to learn his earlier skills; Jan-Ken, for example, if it isn't added through Yamcha's system, and the Original Kamehameha. His training was more intense in that time period, so there's one perk.
Goku's Childhood time period: Train with Roshi or Shen when they were still serious(better gains than training with them in the current time period.) Androids could get a hold of better or extra upgrades through the Red Ribbon Army. You'd have access to the Holy Water and be able to use wishes that Shenron has already granted, because they haven't been made yet. (I,e: Bulma's panties.) You'd be able to partake in a lot of events that no longer happen; Baba Yaga's fortunetelling tournament, helping subdue some Red Ribbon Army members(a quest, obviously,) and so on.
Saiyan Saga: During this time period, it'd be easier to train under Kami and Roshi, due to the incoming Saiyans. This would basically speed up the learning of moves and whatnot, because they'd be hurrying you through your training to "be ready for the Saiyans." You'd also be able to take quests that fit in with that timeline; "Find some dude's grandson," or "Subdue the Saibamen." You could probably gain access to pre-destruction East City and train with the Monks, too. Also, this would be a one-time case where you could train with a PC...PC being Piccolo. If that works out, I'd love to see him teach survival techniques and the SBC.
Android and Cell saga: Visiting this time period would allow you to use the HBTC, assuming your good aligned. You could partake in a few fights with the Androids, or even help them...Just try not to change too much dude. Quests like "Save the city!" or "Aid the Androids" might be available in this period. Also, Androids could get more extra upgrades while in this time period. Piccolo as a PC could take this chance to fuse with Kami and gain a transformation, perhaps.
Buu time period: Evil doers should love this time period, because its their chance to gain the Majin transformation. They could train with Babidi and Dabura, help the Saiyaman, become Majins...The possibilities are pretty limitless, but one should be careful, as close as this time period is to the present.
Obviously, the above time periods are all Earth and History related...You'll need a spaceship to hit up the Namek saga, and you'll need an upgrade to visit alternate dimensions. Each use of the time machine will cost 2,000 zeni after you've used it once, and it will cost more Zeni depending on how many times you visit the same time period. I.e: Going back to the Saiyan saga twice will put me at a cost of 4k to the use.
Now, a few alternatives to traveling and then using the machine.
1. You could go back in time THEN travel to Namek or Vegeta-sei, but that might end awkwardly, because you'd have less time to get things done.
2. Find some way to have IT.
3. You could probably time travel and sneak on board with Goku. This version of Goku would be considered NPC, and it could be played by the PC if he or she so wished. Then you'd be capable of "Master Training," or whatever that'll be called, while Gravity training alongside Namekian-saga Goku. You'd basically be able to learn two techs this way: Kamehameha Energy Dan, and Super Energy Blast( that big yellow blast he fired. You could call it that or something else.)
And, the last time period I'll blab about before talking about the Slayer, Vampire, and Lycan stuff.
Namekian and Post-Namekian time period: You can go back to this time period easily, but unless your already there or have a space ship, your stuck on Earth. If you stay on Earth, you'd be able to take on the Black Water quest chain and help end Garlic Jr.'s attack on Humanity...OR...You could fly to Namek. If your already on Namek, then you'd get to face down Frieza's cronies, get a shot at some of the Ginyu force, have the Grand Elder unlock your potential, train with Nail or even help Dodoria hunt Namekians...
And here's the fun part. If you are capable of going to alternate dimensions, the possibilities become near-endless. You could steal a wish from Krillin and Vegeta (after a seriously long quest, of course) to alter the course of events, thus creating an alternate dimension that time machine users could visit. This would be tricky, because you'd need a staff member to help work out how things are gonna be in that Universe, but it would certainly be interesting.
So. Thats my idea for time machines. After I think on the dimension thing more, I'll try to add a dimension where GT *sigh* exists, and one where you can briefly visit the DBO alternate future.
Now. In the next post, I'll set to work developing the Lycans, Vampires, and Slayers.
