PRPs, Quests and Grading
On Dragonball: Retribution the key to your characters progression are for them to gains the various rewards that are on offer, related to character advancement. Rewards for your character/s can be earned two ways; by completing Quests and Personal Role-Plays (otherwise known as PRPs). Below you will find information varying from descriptions of what exactly Quests and PRPs, the varying types, the rewards on offer, and lots more relevant information.
Reward Information
By completing PRPs, Quests and even Battles (coming soon) your character is rewarded a specific amount of varying rewards. Each different type of reward will help you to advance your character in a different way, helping to customise and build them however you like. The varying rewards are as follows:
- Experience Points (xp) - Experience is the what helps you character progress higher into your profession chain. It can be gained through completing Quests as well as PRPs.
- Planet Reputation (PR) - Reputation can be gained by completing Quests and PRPs. It can be exchanged for a verity of things such as Items and being able to train with certain Martial arts Masters. Once you’ve spent the Reputation you will lose it and have to re-earn it if you wish to purchase something else. Reputation is planetary, which means that the Reputation that you gain will only be valid or usable on the planet that you gained it on (Earth Reputation for Earth, Namek Reputation for Namek, etc.).
- Stat Points (SP) - These allow you to further upgrade your Stats, so that you can become stronger on the site. These can be gained by completing either Quests or PRPs.
- Technique Points (TP) - The main way to acquire new moves and techniques for your combative arsenal is to buy them using Technique Points. You can only acquire these by completing PRPs.
- Zeni (z) - This is the currency of the Dragonball universe, stemming originally from the planet Earth. You will need it to purchase anything in shops throughout the universe. Zeni can only be earned by completing Quests.
PRPs
Personal Role-Plays (or PRPs) allow members the extra freedom that Quests do not, enabling them to fully create any In Character storyline that they want to. They are usually used when a person or persons wish to do a particular story that isn’t covered in any of the Quests. Unlike the majority of Quests, PRPs are not location specific, meaning that even while travelling from one location to another, you are still able to write a PRP in the planets “Other Location” section. There are no limit to the number of PRPs that you can do per weekly update.
Per 1,000 Words = 100xp | 5PR | 5SP | 1TP
Under 1,000 Words is graded with half the rewards for a 1,000 Word Count, with a possible Bonus Reduction depending on the total finished Word Count of the thread.

TP can only be gained by doing PRPs, but Zeni cannot be gained.
Quests
Quests are created specifically for the site, by the staff and members alike, and offer partially pre-set stories or situations in locations across the In Character universe. Each planet has its own Quests, location specific to offer something different with each new setting, though there are also a number of General Quests that can be done no matter what planet or location you’re at. If you do a Quest with other people, you each have to hit the require Word Count. You are only able to do 4 Quests per weekly update. The difficulty and rewards gained by doing Quests differ:

Types of Quests
There are many different types of Quests available for site members, with each different type offering something new and unique. They are:
- Normal Quests: These are the most standard type of Quest available on the site. They will usually involve a standard, generic story with no difficult requirements or alignment changes involved, no matter what the end result of the Quest is.
- Alignment Quests: These are very much like Normal Quests, with the exception that instead of a generic storyline there are three major branches of the story; Good, Neutral and Evil. You have to pick one to follow, and depending on what you choose you will gain a slight alignment change in that direction upon the Quests completion.
- Chain Quests: Fundamentally these consist of several Normal and Alignment Quests, however, they link numerically to each other and the next Quest can only be moved onto once the previous one has been completed. Chain Quests usually get harder as they progress but have higher rewards.
- Universal Quests: These consist of several similarly themed Quests (Normal or Alignment based), one per planet. Once each of the Quests have been completed a new “Universal Quest” becomes available. The difficulty increases with the final mission, but the rewards will be higher.
Quality Bonuses
Because we want to encourage members to continually strive for a high standard of writing, improvement and great character development, a Quality Bonus system has been created to reward members for when they do outstanding writing. This system will remain a secret to the general public and only the staff will be privy to the information surrounding it, but it will be taken into account every time a thread is graded. On the flip side, if a grader believes that little to no effort has been put into the thread they are grading, they have the option available to give a “Negative Quality Bonus”, which will include reducing the basic reward. However, this will only be used in rare cases.
