Common Courtesy/Other Rules & Guidelines
Control Your Own Character! You cannot control another player's character without their prior permission. This includes not only auto-hitting and killing other characters, but also posting actions for other characters without their owner's approval. If you do make an action for a character within your writing, please notify everyone in the beginning of your post or prior to doing so.
Treat Everyone with Respect! No one person is greater than another, or at least they are not here. You can call people "n00b" or whatever, just do not be a jackass about it. We don’t want to ban people for going over the top, but we will if we have to.
The Writer's Consent: Although we may want to have some type of connection with another character, it is required to have permission from the second character before you have any connections to them. This includes - but is not limited to just - relationships, being related to one another (family), or even their histories being somehow connected. Once again, make sure to have the consent or permission of another writer before involving their character in any situation with your character.
Clause to Writer's Consent rule 01: Likewise, when joining as a Canon character, respect that the current members will have been developing ongoing story-lines with their characters, and your character history may directly be involved. We ask that you attempt to discuss the issue with other Canon characters linked to your own, and try to work as much as their pre-written development into your own character history (staff will be on hand to help with any issues in this area).
Play Fair! As I said earlier do not try and be "an all powerful warrior." We simply don't have those in this RPG; we let our main characters get the crap beaten out of them and do not try to be "too cool" to laugh at ourselves.
Administrators/Moderators: The Administrators and Moderators play a vital role on Dragonball: Retribution. They are the ones who enforce the rules that we all live by. We (the admins and staff) hate dishing out punishment as much as you all hate getting it. The basic rule of thumb is do not do anything stupid that would get you on our bad sides; we are not slave drivers - we are kind people, and we love to interact and have fun with our members. Do not make us change our minds on that. A list of the site staff, and the hierarchy, can be found here[/u][/url].
Elastic Clause: For the most part, the rules to this RPG are very simple and it offer a lot of freedom for what your character can do. While we generally let players play and do whatever, all actions are subject to disapproval by the Administrator and other board monitors. Even if your action does not appear to be breaking any rules listed here, there are some things that will not be allowed for one reason or another. Often, it is because of common courtesies that are basically understood while Role-Playing, even if they are not written in the actual rules. Or, it may be because your action just would not make any logical sense with regard to the current story line or your location (I.E.: Going to a shop in West City when the topic is on another planet).
The Most Important Rule!!! Beyond that which is listed above and in other threads, there are not many rules left. Remember that the rules are here so that those who are here keep respect, they get and give it equally, and all of that. The most important rule here is: HAVE FUN!!! This RPG is not to cram thousands of rules down your throat; it is meant as an escape of reality and a hangout for those who are into writing, Role-Playing and Dragonball Z.
If you need anything, contact one of the administrators via PM. If you ever feel unsure about anything, remember that the administrators are always here for help.
