Krillin was out and about West City, going to the local bank to withdraw some money since he was running short. “Thank you very much,” the monk smiled at the receptionist, walking off merrily with capsulated money deep into his pocket. A block or so later and he heard screams and gunshots from behind. Next thing he knew he saw police cars speeding past, causing him to turn around and frown, all that came from the bank he just left.
“All-right men, we have typical bank robbery and hostages situation. You all in front keep them busy while we surround the premise!” One of the cops told his colleges, just as Krillin snuck past the blockages of police cars with his invisible speed, keeping himself hidden from the robbers and police behind a wall.
Not wanting his cover blown with too much movement, he closed his eyes and concentrated. “The hostages are all bunched together, with a few people surrounding them. The rest are scattered about the building, but there’s a small group on this floor, they must be getting the money...[/i]” he thought, picturing the mapping of the area with the human ki signatures he sensed out.
His priority was the hostages, as much as getting the stolen money back was important, it was not worth an innocent casualty or more. Using his super fast speed to camouflage himself with rapid yet stealth like movement, the monk made his way towards the area where the hostages were kept, keeping himself hidden behind another wall. “All-right, there goes nothing...” he muttered to himself, hands clawing as small spheres of ki formed with his palm. Krillin was a ki manipulation master by his own right, and it was rare for him to not apply it to things aside of battling super villains that endangered the Earth.
“One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, there’s seven of them...” Krillin counted the number of men he had to take out, continued to charge up his energy spheres. His goal weren’t he men himself, but their weapons. He had to make them strong enough that the explosion will at least make them unusable, but weak enough to just knock out the men at most. Feeling he kept the right amount of power balanced, the monk tossed the balls to the side, where they made a sharp turned and homed in quickly towards the men.
“What the f...” One of them readied his machine gun, ready to fire but the ki ball exploded upon his chest fist and he was set alight momentarily, leaving a heavily smoked and unconscious body dropping to the ground front first. Soon the rest of his accomplices let out yelps of pain before falling to a similar fate, and then stood out in front of hostages. “Everyone follow me, I’m going to lead you all to the police outside, please stay close together!” he called before going to look for a path outside, leading them past a few grunts who he ki blasted before they could do anything.
“Thank you, I’ll keep watch from the back!” the monk said, relieved after he led them out through the back door. He kept tabs of any energy movements from the men still about, and as he thought they soon started coming to his location. Seeing one of them through the corner of his eye, the monk quickly raised a Kiai like barrier in front of himself, creating an invisible wall behind the retreating hostages. “Give up, those weapons won’t work on me!” Krillin declared, rushing forwards quickly to kick the gun into the air with such force that it shattered on contact with the ceiling. A swift chop to the back of the head later, one was down.
“DAH!” Several more grunts then came at him, but Krillin calmly faced his palm towards them and let out a sharp yell. An invisible shockwave then hit them all, knocking them back and out. He then rushed towards the remaining group of ki signatures he could sense, seeing a bunch of men putting money into sacks and suit cases. “That money is not yours!” he declared as they noticed him, unable to reaction as the monk quickly knocked them out with swift gut punches. The police then went in to secure and guard the money.
“All-right, I did it!” he cheered himself on triumphantly with a fist pump, unknown that a large dark figure towered over him menacingly. “Oh? What do we have here? A shrimp of hero, who is going to face my wrath for beating up my men, how am I going to grab all the money now, huh?” a male voice said. Upon hearing those words, Krillin turned himself around to face his next opponent, his eyes then widened at who it was.
“No... why are you their boss?”
-
“Good job men, we have secured all the hostages. But what happened to that bald guy in orange who were leading them?” one officer said, panic cries then sounded when broken glass was heard as Krillin was hurled rolling just outside the bank. “Look, there he is! But really he could have used the door instead of breaking through the window like that, what an attention-” he rambled on until he saw another much more bulky man step out. “Oh, that explains things...” he said awkwardly, rubbing back of his neck at the dead panned expressions of his colleges.
“Urgh, even thought you’ve grown up a lot, there’s not mistaking that lightning shaped scar on your cheek...” Krillin muttered, hands on his knees as he pushed himself back up. The big boss of the robbery was a tall man with spiky blonde hair and a battle worn face. He wore a purple shirt underneath black leather jacket. The dark blue jeans, brown belt and brown leather boots completed his typical gangster look, and he had to the power to back up his might as well. “Leon!”
“Six dots on his bald head, orange gi, and a sissy voice...” the man scratched his chin thoughtfully. “Hey take that back, I don’t have a sissy voice! Plust I’m not taking this from a guy who’s such a typically cliché gangster villain, I’m sure whoever put you into this roleplay plot was probably running out of ideas!” Krillin retaliated, shaking his fist at him. “And likes to break the forth wall, you haven’t changed at all these past years...” the man in leather grinned. “Master Krillin!”

We now take a look back to right after the last martial arts tournament that Krillin participated him where he lost against Piccolo Junior, the monk went back to Orin Temple where he started his training. He was now an accomplished martial artist and probably one of the strongest humans around, he now had more than enough courage to return there. Once bullied a lot since he started, he was welcomed back warmly and showed what he had learned. This grew quite popular and soon there many people who wanted to learn under him. Seeing this as a great way to make this temple more renown, he accepted the offer and started his own dojo within the temple.
“All-right, once you have pulled that inner energy into your centre, push it down gently towards you feet, do you all understand?” Krillin asked his class of students, keeping it in small grounds of five or six to better teach them. Ever since the martial tournament where Tien and Choutsu showed up, people have wanted to fly and throw energy attacks, it was the coolest thing around and appealed to everyone who knew. This is exactly what Krillin taught, and he hoped to lead people in the right direction, as his students also included orphans, delinquents who were brought here to be disciplined as well.
“And that’s our final lesson. Now that I have taught you the basics, the rest is up to you. Travel the world, fight the strongest opponents, live, play, get married, have kids, and so on. Develop your own style, and you might even surpass me one day at the tournament! Heh actually, I know you all have been waiting for this, how about you all work together and see if you can beat me in a sparring match, how does that sound?” The people he taught were enthusiastic, brimming with more potential he ever felt possible, and it was through this, he didn’t mind still being single.
Leon was one of those students he taught, he had a rocky start just like he did, he was weak and he could tell the rest of his class looked down at him. But he worked hard, and by the end he was equal on everyone else, and got a good hit on him too when they sparred, his eyes were fierce, ones that desired recognition which Krillin thought he had given. However, he never would have thought, that it would have led to something like this.
-
“So you really are Leon, but I thought you went travelling around the world after graduation, what in the world happened to you?!” Krillin demanded, rubbing his head and teeth bared at him. He didn’t understand, Leon still had the same eyes that he had before, was that the problem? Leon continued grinning manically and burst forward, throwing a punch in which the monk caught at the wrist with both hands, making him almost bend to his knees on contact. “What is this... monstrous power?” he thought as his hands shook under the pressure.
“Hmph, I did travel the world, and found out just how rotten it is. That it is true, money does make the world go round. So that’s why I became a crime boss and also why I tried to rob the bank until you messed it up like a typical hero. Without money, no one can survive in this wretched world! The weak and poor will die while the strong and wealthy will survive, it is simply survival of the fittest! And people like you and me who have mastered ki, have the privilege to gain wealth and survive because of our power! These pigs and civilians… they do not matter in the bigger picture, they can be dead in a blink of an eye of I so wish!”
“That’s not what I was trying to teach you, you idiot! You were supposed to either ignore or help quell such evil in the world, not join them! The world and life does not work that way, you’ve seen today that your bank robbery has been stopped by me! Now give up and hand yourself to the police, it’s for your own good! What you all are doing is just plain wrong and is against all that I taught you!” Krillin replied angrily, gaining his momentum and started pushing back, legs up straight before throwing Leon away. He did a brief back flip before skidding to a halt a few metres away, then started cracking his neck and knuckles, a glint in his eyes.
“You have a strong throw but how naive you are master, you have no idea what is good for me. Actually this is a grand opportunity, I will prove how wrong you are by beating you here and now in front of these people, the harsh reality that heroes don’t always win!” Leon cried, running forwards madly like a wild bull.
The monk nimbly dodged a barrage of furious punches and kicks, which were fast yet powerful as well. Krillin kept himself careful and he swayed and back stepped to dodge the moves, his strength almost gave him extended range, the wind pressure conjured would hurt as much as the physical hit itself Seeing a brief opening in a charging punch, the human dodge rolled to the side and had the opportunity to counterattack from behind, but he couldn’t bring himself to do it. “I have to stop him, but why can’t…” he wondered, why was his heart aching a little?
“
“The monk can’t get any punches in, that is were we come in, let’s give it all we’ve got boys!” called one of the commanding police officers. “No! stop it! Don’t shoot at him!” Krillin cried outstretching his hand at the police as he ran to them, but it was too late. The barrage of bullets started, bouncing off Leon as if he was covered by invisible bullet proof glass. As the monk feared, he turned his attention to them, a dangerous look in his eyes.
“Damn you pigs are getting on my nerves…” he said with grit teeth, visibly annoyed as he charged yellow crackling energy into his fist. “So do me a favour and disappear!” the blonde yelled, throwing a yellow sphere of ki at the cars where the policemen took cover in. Knowing the immediate danger to the innocents before him, Krillin boosted his speed and flickered in front of them, hands flinging upwards to deflect the ki ball up and gone in the air. “That’s enough Leon! Leave the police and the city out of this! This is between you and me, I’m the one that stopped you from getting away with the money, remember?!” he spread out his arms, keeping guard of the people behind him as they scrammed. “All of you please, take everyone as far away from here as possible, don’t let the media get close either!” he told them, eyeing them to make sure the coast was clear, now he could hold back just a little less.
“Hmph, like I said they don’t matter! You ruined my plans master, I will pay you back for it ten fold with my power! RAWR!” Leon roar, a flaring yellow crackling aura then surrounded him, causing ground beneath him to crack, bits of chipped pavement levitating around him. Krillin took a step back and braced himself as he took a fighting stance, the ki he was sensing, it was monstrous! “Don’t you remember my first lesson? Power isn’t everything, idiot pupil!” he yelled, dashing forwards with boosted speed to prove his point. “SHUT UP!” With another cry, yellow energy spread out exploding from his body in a hemispherical display of light, forcing Krillin to flicker upwards to become airborne.
“I cannot let you do as you please, I’m giving you on a five seconds to surrender and apologise, then I might let you off lightly” he said with his palm out as the smoke cleared, Leon formed a small crater around himself and couldn’t help but laugh, and keep laughing. “Are you serious? You have no idea what you’re up against, you’ll be off this very Earth within five seconds!” he called, charging mass amounts of ki into his hands as he brought them together. “All this power I have acquired, I will use it all to finish you off, hahahahaha!” he declared, yellowing aura brightening about himself. Krillin wasn’t phased though, he just stood there, keeping tabs on how potent the ki he was sensing was.
“I’ve seen enough…” the monk said, tucking his thumb in to make a hand seal. “What the… my body, I can’t move… what did you…” Leon stammered as he ki vanished in a instant, then he fell on his front, invisibly paralysed by some kind of force. Krillin calmed walked up towards him, then squatted down to look at him in the eye. “Back when I held off your wrist with your first strike, I transferred some of my ki into your nervous system, your body won’t be able to move for a long while. I could have restrained you earlier, but I wanted to see how strong you were for my own curiosity,” he explained.
“With that power you showed me, you’re a hundred years too early to be challenging me like this Leon, think long and hard about what you’ve done during your imprisonment.” Krillin lectured his student sternly, but then his expression softened with showing pained regret. “All this power and experience, if your methods or intents had any good in them, I would have been very proud of your progress, goodbye.” with that said, he threw a critical punch to his student’s gut, knocking him out before he hit the city floor. The police rushed to arrest him and shoved him in a car, but Krillin was sure to give him a fair warning. “A normal cell won’t hold him with his superhuman powers, so make sure he is taken to one of the West City anit-ki cells of the highest security.” he told them before they drove off.
“Sir, you are injured, we should take you to the hospital…” one of the remaining officers started, eyes widening as golden light appeared surrounding Krillin’s hand as he touched his head, healing powers? “Thanks for your concern, but I’ll be just fine, now if you’ll excuse me, I have to return home,” he forced a smile before walking off on his own, hands behind his head as he looked up, he had a lot to contemplate about.
