Wonderful smells surrounded the exhausted girl, causing her to perk up slightly. Holly sat in the back corner of a restaurant, away from everybody. Fresh bread, coffee, sugar, Even the smell of some type of fruit. She had just finished a long training session, and had stopped in to get something to eat before returning home. With a sweep of her hand, she brushed her long brown hair out of her face, her green eyes never leaving the table. Light footsteps that were coming closer caused her to look up, meeting the gaze of a young man, supposedly a waiter. He had a kind face, with long black hair that dropped down into it. She looked him over for a second, coming to a conclusion he was safe, and wasn’t a threat. He didn’t look scary, after all, Most mean people she has met were always pretty shady looking.
As he sat a bowl of noodles on the table, Holly mumbled a barely audible “Thank you.” before looking away again. The waiter nodded and began to walk away before stopping hot in his tracks. He slowly turned around and walked over to the girl, speaking in his kindest voice possible, “Hey sweetie. Are you feeling okay?” He smiled, trying his best to look non-threatening. It made her tense up again, but she just brushed it to the side. I’m just extra jumpy today. That’s all. She thought with out a doubt. She was normally a shy person, so anybody could scare her pretty easy. That was one thing she hated more than anything. Looking weak and scared.
Holly looked up, tiredness clouding her green eyes. “Yeah… Fine… Just tired…” She yawned halfway as she spoke, taking unusually long pauses between phrases. Usually she wouldn’t have responded, but being so tired, she couldn’t care less. Why in the world is this stranger talking to me? Why would he even care? And whats up with him calling me ‘sweetie’ Maybe he is just overfriendly. She shrugged it off, taking a small bite of noodles. The man nodded, crossing his arms slightly. “Kay sugar. Tell me if you need anything.” He waved his hand before slowly walked back over to the counter. Holly glanced up, seeing him whisper to another waitress and point at Holly occasionally, curiosity creeping into their eyes.
Holly looked back at her noodles, pretending not to notice the gossip or whatever it was. With a sigh, she took another bite of noodles, noticing how well they actually tasted. Smooth, cooked just right. They way she liked it, Not too mushy, but not to firm. It was pretty sweet in a way, but also slightly salty. The two blended very well together. It wasn’t long before she finished the entire bowl, Setting it down on the table. Her hair swished as she stood up slowly, grabbing her little bag with one hand, digging through it with the other. The man walked back up to her again, requesting payment for her meal. Holly nodded, half listening as she brought her hand out, holding some Zeni within it.
“Here you go.” She quietly said, but it was still louder than before. She sat the Zeni in the man’s outstretched palm, then briskly towards the door. “Come again!” She heard the man call from inside as she shut the door behind her. Cold air immediately hit her, causing a loud gasp to escape her. She rubbed her arms while she got used to the cold air and was able to walk around. “Hmm...” She glanced around, seeing the empty street before her. It was a very unnerving sight, even for a Saiyan. It would be creepy to anybody really. Usually the street was filled with the loud clatter of voices trying to speak over each other, but today, it looked very much like a ghost town. It sent a shiver down her spine.
Holly stepped into the street, walking across. I guess I should go home… She sighed, Home was so boring. She would rather be out and walking in the streets all day, no matter how much her mussels argued and burned. Maybe I should start thinking about finding myself a master. I really could use help learning how to use my skills... Holly walked down the street slowly, lost in thought. She didn’t even realize a string of police cars were going high speed down the street until they zoomed past her, barely missing the startled girl.
Holly stumbled back, landing on the sidewalk. She sat in a daze, more or less, shocked, not even feeling the long scrape on her knee. After a moment or too she slowly she stood back up, keeping her eyes on the cars as they stopped in front of a bank, police men piling out. “Looks like I’ll go check it out…” She mumbled to herself while pulling her hair out of her face. She ignored an urge to whimper as when she started to walk, the scrape rubbed against her jeans. A wet scarlet patched leaked itself onto her jeans as she walked, making her grimace. Those were her favorite jeans too! A frown fixed itself on her face as she neared the Bank, a cop stopped her.
“Sorry lady. You do not have permission to enter.” He said softly, in a smooth voice that seemed to be holding back fear. He put his strong hand on her shoulder, trying to hold her back. Without a so much as a word, she brought her hand up to pry his off with ease. They never listen, so why try to reason with him? She thought to herself, ignoring the man’s yelling behind her, and continued to walk to the glass door. Where was Earth’s Protectors or the Champ when you needed them?! All doubts and fear pushed aside, She took a deep breath and pushed the door open with one hand, stepping inside.
Holly crossed her arms, walking slowly while her eyes adjusted to the bright light. “Did you get ev- Hey! Who is she and what is she doing in here!?” A loud voice caught Holly off guard, making her jump. She spun around to see a group of men, all dressed in baggy black clothes. All of them were a lot taller than her, and to the least, made her wish she was invisible. “I’m here to stop you!” She yelled out in her loudest voice, taking a step forward. All that did was earn laughing from the men dressed in black. They looked like ordinary humans, but with an eerie feeling to them. A gut feeling told her to turn and run while she could, but as always, She didn’t listen to her gut.“You St- stop us!? Buhahaha! I wou- Would love to see that!” The leader choked out, hardly able to speak strait.
She swallowed the lump in her throat, standing up straighter that unusual. Something was off about these people. She was sure of it. “I’m giving you one more chance! Put the money down, you I will be forced to hurt you!” She commanded, unsure of what to say next. The group just laughed harder, almost dropping the money in the process. Holly rolled her eyes and whispered to herself, “Fine. Have it your way.” She didn’t like doing this, But they were giving her no other choice.
Holly tensed herself up, then silently disappeared, only to reappear in front of the youngest of the three men. He stood shocked, not knowing how to react. With a smirk, she kicked out her leg, tripping the man. The bag of money flew out of his hand, and was promptly caught by Holly. She disappeared and did the same to the other man before reappearing back where she had started. “No way!” The two young men both gasped out in unison. The third one kept a strait face, making Holly feel uncomfortable. “You’re not an ordinary human, are you?” His voice came out with a hiss as he took a step forward. Holly crossed her arms, holding the money bags in each hand. “No I’m not. Now go turn yourself in before I have to hurt you too.” She threatened, setting the bags down. “Haha! I would never do such a thing!” Holly narrowed her eyes, walking until she was right in front of the man. “Now!” She yelled, losing her patience. He only responded by punching at her face, only to hit the air beside her head. Holly growled then punched at the man multiple times, only to hit him a few times out of about 50. No way he’s that fast! She gasped as he kicked out, hitting her in the thigh. “The tables have turned now, Haven’t they sweetie?” He hissed, punching and kicking at her.
Holly growled, jumping back. If they continued, the bank would be destroyed! She eyed the exit, allowing an opening in her guard. If she could just lure him outside…The man used that to his advantage and punched her strait in the jaw. She stumbled backwards, holding her mouth as slight blood trickled out of the corner. “Give up yet? You know you don’t stand a chance!” The man mocked, aiming more punches at her. Almost all of them were dodged as she ran to the side. She held her hand to her side, easing the ache. I have to do it! It’s the only way I can beat him! Holly charged a light blue energy blast in each hand, holding it for only a split second before launching them at the man. Surprisingly, he didn’t block them. They exploded on contact, seeming to stun him for a moment. Now is my chance! Holly rushed forward, grabbing the man by his shirt. She didn’t even have to think before hitting him in the back of the head, knocking him out. It wasn’t nearly hard enough to kill him, but it sure would hurt in the morning.
Once she was sure he was out cold, She roughly sat him down on the ground then glared over at the other robbers. “Now, Do you wish to walk yourselves out?” She growled in an irritated voice. She didn’t feel like hurting more people, maybe that was enough to scare them off.“Y-Yes please! Just don’t hurt us!” The two men stammered, both of them scrambling to their feet. Holly silently nodded, grabbing her purse and the bags of money in one hand, hold the leader with the other. She slowly walked out, glancing back to make sure the others were following right behind her. She used her leg to open the door and was immediately met face to face with a cop, maybe the cheif. “Ha- Wait! You stopped the robbers!” A cop stopped her, a shocked look on his face. “Yeah I did… Now, if you would please take him-” Holly sat the man down the on ground, then stepped back, “-And these two.” She gestured to the others, giving them a ‘Don’t you dare try anything’ look before smiling to the cop slightly. She jogged down the steps before being stopped by another cop. “Can we at least know your name?” He questioned, making Holly feel extremely shy again.
“Its…Holly” She mumbled before pushing past him, back into the street. As she walked, she felt eyes staring at her once again. Police cars could be seen driving down the street, towards the city jail. She glanced back at the Bank with half closed eyes and stifled a yawn. Even as her legs felt exhausted, she dashed off in the direction of her house, one thing on her mind. Who was that man, and if he wasn’t human, What was he? An alien? Just a human who uses ki? He might have even been a Saiyan for all she knew! But one thing was for sure, he was evil, and knowing his race would never change that.
