Tokiuan rolled over to see if the storm had subsided. It had appeared to vanish, eight or more hours must have passed since he made it into the small cavern. “Hmph, no choice but to find aid for my shoulder, I won't last long with one arm on this planet.” Tokiuan groaned grabbing his wounded limb with agony. The sun was in full momentum, being at its highest point in the sky. A few hours of clear weather, then back to the hell which even he wasn't fond of. It was amazing how he even managed to fit into the entrance at all, getting out was quite a struggle in its self. Tokiuan scanned the area attempting to determine which way the imperial city may be, suicidal for going there? Fighting was no issue, losing his arm for good was a bit of a problem. “Well, I cam from that way. That doesn't mean anything though, I can't remember how I got here!!!” Tokiuan pounded his fist into the freshly laid snow, noticing a few fresh tracks heading off to the east for several miles. “Worth a shot.” Tokiuan said scanning the open area for any more hints, they never showed up.
Days seemed to be racing by, or maybe delusion was setting in faster then he thought. Tokiuan had always been a great tracker and survivalist, this cold weather was putting all of his senses out of control. “This is ridiculous, how did I end up so far out from any civilization!?” he roared with all his might. Just as the next night fall seemed to begin setting in, hope finally lit up for the weakened demons world. Massive gates, magnificently displaying the high barricaded walls beside them was easy enough to figure out where he was. Tokiuan staggered from side to side, inching closer to the gate with decent speed, for his remaining power anyways. Some sort of alter system was sent out, no doubt from a guard posted at the very top of the gate where a small shelf for units stood. The Main Gate flew open just a few inches, only enough room to allow two men out to greet the new visitor. “Halt! You have no right here demon, how you arrived on our planet is a mystery in its self. Enough of that however, you must report with us back to the king.” Tokiuan looked over the two guards, the one who remained silent could most likely be disposed of, the loud one had something odd about him. Power flowed through him quite conveniently. “That was not a request...” the guard spoke again, he must have really blanked out for a few minutes there. “Fine lets play this your way for now, take me to this so called King.” Tokiuan couldn't afford to lay out bodies on the steps of their major city just yet.
People in the city didn't take lightly of his presence, some looked as if they may try to jump him on the spot. Tokiuan stared down anyone who looked like they were trying to work up the courage to yell something out, these people really didn't have much backbone it would seem. “Keep your head down!” was all he heard followed by a swift hit to the back of the head. This guard would get his soon enough, it wasn't a promise, more like a death guarantee for one. Once they made it to the main headquarters Tokiuan had to fight not to laugh. The building wasn't in match with the beautiful exterior of the city. “Quick stop to the rookie armory?” Tokiuan said with a huge smirk on his face. Before the guard could hit him, the doors flung open which made the guards nod briefly before making their leave. “You may enter.” a voice boomed out from the shaded interior, something odd was floating around this place.
Tokiuan kept a pace that wasn't too quick, there was no way an ambush would occur on him this way. Looking forward a large throne came into a view, a large being sat patiently, tapping his purple hand on the arm rest. This had to be their so called “King” the stories he heard had made him sick to his stomach, people like this flaunting around like their super evil. “Welcome to our planet..... yet I feel as your kind doesn't truly have a place here.” King Cold said looking the demon up and down with interest. “There is only one rather I don't have your head rolling around my cities streets right now, a job has come up. One that I need something like you rather, in order for it to go smoothly.” “If I decline?” Tokiuan said, trying to come off as simple minded for only hearing some of his words. “This may come as a complete shock, I have enemies.” King cold was dead serious, oblivious that people may object to his great ways. Tokiuan refused to talk, they less said the better. “My loving son, the bastard he is, thinks I'm not fit to control anything let alone this proud planet!” King cold tightened his fists with rage, eyes flaring up with passion.
“You can't have any inside men washing their hands in the mess?” Tokiuan suggested, which was bold to already assume what the mission was. King cold raised an eyebrow before continuing the story. “This has been coming for years, debating all decisions, going as far as to revert back to old laws while I'm on trips. The boy is so far out of line, the next dimension will greet him with open arms.” Amusing how even these big power hungry families couldn't hold anything together. Tokiuan just gave a nod in fret of insulting the king with his response. “They are held up in a mountain we consider sacred, if I lay hands on the rebellion they've started up there, that bastard gets what he wants.” King cold readjusted himself, back pain perhaps setting in slowly. “You will go, dispose of my son, all of them if you wish! Lessons must be learned so that no one else will dare stand up to the legendary King Cold!” Tokiuan would love to finely get in some killing with no strings or laws attached. “It would humble me to take this quest on, my shoulder how it is today....” King cold waved a hand to stop him from talking. “Come here this instant!” Tokiuan almost stepped forward before a cloaked man, only his green hands showing ran forth. “Heal my new bounty hunter!” King cold screamed, spit flying everywhere. The servant trembled before carrying out the demand. A light aura surrounded Tokiuan, warm and comforting.
“Thank you.” Tokiuan muttered waving for him to go away. “So about the little reward I've set up.” “Don't want it.” he replied while leaving with haste. “Don't you dare walk out on me creature!” King cold yelled standing up from his throne. He was a massive changeling with strong features, maybe a good fighter. Tokiuan spun around firmly holding his place. “Take it or not, we hold our vows honorably here. If you succeed, the entrance to ancestral cave will be granted. Treasure, Power you name it.” King cold said still raised above his throne. Tokiuan shrugged not giving it too much thought. “Thank you? Rewards aren't why I'm doing this, you should understand of course.” King cold nodded with a sick grin, almost like he was going to get to kill this demon one way or another. “Be gone, work is well ahead of you.” with the wave of a hand Tokiuan spun around, making his leave this time.
It would take time to track down this mountain, granted with newly restored strength that should easily be taken care of. The Artic Barrens would prove an exciting challenge, now that he had an idea of what to expect. The routine walk followed by the guards occurred right again. People staring, cocky remarks of over compensation from the company with him, the day was going good so far. After making their way through the long streets of the city, the Main Gates greeted them once more. “You better not fail, or just vanish into the cold! We don't need demons here.” the guard said lifting his hand swiftly. Tokiuan snapped back, catching the wrist of the clumsy guard. “Perhaps, I'll kill you then vanish?” Tokiuan challenged with joy. The guard pulled his hand away, storming off without saying a word. “Nice talking to you.” he called out shortly before the silent one followed in pursuit of his friend.
The path way seemed to be more stranger now, fully focused on it it looked like a drunk alien designed it. Weaving all over the place, a small loop for no reason, before stretching out into the place that almost killed him. “This may be a great place to train once I'm done my ordeal with the King.” Tokiuan nodded then dashed off into the artic barrens, eagerly awaiting the fight that would no doubt await. Anticipation faded as no luck to finding the mountain was happening. “This might be about where I woke up, now where should I go?” Tokiuan questioned himself hoping an answer would magically appear out of the skies. A light snow fall was beginning, mere hours could put him right back in the same situation that got all of this going.
Tokiuan squinted hard, something was beginning to loom over the distance. “Unless they changed over the last thousand years, that's a mountain.” it was hard to see, almost like an illusion burning through the fog. “Quite a distance away still.” Tokiuan whistled sarcastically knowing it wouldn't take long at all to cover the miles. Over the next hour, the base of the mountain rushed up to view as he came to a skidding halt, snow flying in every direction. “Now assuming that didn't alert anyone, what way would be best?” Tokiuan looked around, the path to the right was smooth with firmly planted safety steps. The left was jagged, falling off would be no task. Today the riskier way would have to do, he had no idea how strong they were, element of surprise would be a good card to have. With a loud grunt Tokiuan flung him self to jagged path, slowly clawing his way up the side of the mountain. Snow rolled down of the side instantly, pouring into his eyes and mouth. “Damn it!” Tokiuan said louder then necessary, his face going red.
Voices could be heard from above, Tokiuan was probably just losing his mind. He had been climbing for about forty minutes, fatigue setting in quickly with no remorse. “That cave, maybe I will just break in on my way down!” Tokiuan grumbled to himself trying to think about something else then falling. In all honesty, it was just the weather that zapped so much of his energy, hills rather large in Hell proved to be no threat for him. “Just a few more hauls, then.... there!” Tokiuan said with triumph hopping up onto the small edging someone had carved for seating. “This is ridiculous, it doesn't seem like progression is happening here.” he let out a sigh cracking his sore neck. “Just a quick break.” Tokiuan closed his eyes then snapped out of it standing up carefully. “Damn it that storm should be rolling in soon!” with that Tokiuan launched himself of the edge, beginning his climb once again.
“Alright perfect!” the ending was nearly in view, or in his luck it would just end up being a massive edge platform. Tokiuan pulled with all his might, lifting his body up to the edging that had to lead somewhere. Foot steps, nothing to strange yet they seemed to be on alert. Tokiuan almost let go completely when the pair of boots came to a halt right at the edge, maybe he was spotted? Then they left calmly, continuing on with the routine walk path apparently. “Time to cause some chaos!”Tokiuan cheered flipping up, landed several feet away from the drop below. “Now... where are these rebels hiding?” he questioned scanning the area with great intent. Nothing out of the ordinary, no trace of anything.
Tokiuan silently ran trying to find foot steps that had disappeared mysteriously. “That's not possible..” he said almost wishing to scream it. People just can't vanish, maybe the King but no one else had that kind of power. He closed his eyes, trying to imagine the way the thud of his steps had carried of in. “Found you I believe..” Tokiuan said dashing off in the direction he could have just made up in his mind. After a few minutes a small wood hut loomed over the corner, no doubt as poor watch base. The man who walked by him on the edge, came running out, looked both ways, then took off farther up the path. “Not happening!” Tokiuan said out loud running head on to the fleeing coward. Their bodies collided, crashing into the ground and sliding back down the mountain. The watcher grabbed Tokiuans neck, throwing two swift punches into his face. “You got some fight don't you!?” Tokiuan said wiping away blood before monkey flipping the watcher off. He rolled right over the edge, falling to an untimely death, while Tokiuan barely managed to catch his hand on a boulder of ice.
It took several attempts to get back up top, thankfully no other watchers showed up to ignite a brawl of any sort. Tokiuan rubbed his jaw annoyed. “That was a good shot...” he grunted then shook his head to fight off passing out. It would appear the path spiraled up another feet, leading into some bunker that was hidden away from anything able to detect energy. “Time to make a prince beg for mercy.” Tokiuan said clapping his hands together, excited for the challenge waiting right in front of him.
The snow was starting to pour down in a harsh manner, staying outside any longer would be suicide. Tokiuan dashed towards the bunker before him, blasted a hole in the metal door then jumped inside. “Why is it so dark!?” he said baffled by how dark it was to see. You could easily get lost in here with all the pathways heading in different directions. “He was supposed to be back a while ago, what a slacker!” the voices carried out down the hall way, torch light slowly lighting up everything around. Tokiuan took off down a corridor, waiting silently behind the corner. “It's not like him, we should go check it out.” a few minutes of arguing finally lead to one of them running out into the storm. The other rebel shook his head turning to walk away, Tokiuan jumped out driving his fist into his skull. The body collapsed before him, going limp like a jelly fish. “This may not be so hard...” Tokiuan said with wishful thinking, then dragged the corpse in to the darkness to hide.
“Sir! Our watcher is gone, when I came back my cousin had also vanished!” the rebel said trying to regain air in his shaking lungs. “Who would dare such an attempt!? No doubt my father is at play here.” the changeling prince said walking back and forth, fear starting to rise up into his mind. “Sweep everywhere, I want this person caught within the hour!” his fists were clenched, drawing blood from himself. All the rebels gave a scared look of caution, then nodded taking their hint to get on the task. “No one will stop me from dethroning King Cold.” he vowed eagerly watching his men leave.
Tokiuan kept running, every path looked so familiar, it was hard to keep track of where he was. “Sounds like someone is aware of me being here. Time to turn things up a bit!” he screamed powering up, alerting all the rebels of the general area he was in. A rebel ran straight into his elbow, shattering the poor aliens nose. Two more rebels arrived, instantly seeing who was behind the attacks. “well... come on then!” Tokiuan yelled dashing towards them. A spinning back hand put one of them down, the other slipped, hitting his face off his knee. “For rebels who are fighting a king, poor technique if they plan to go very far.” Tokiuan laughed then carried on his way. There was only an estimate of how many there could be, being outnumbered was expected from the start.
The prince stood still in rage, awaiting what ever had come to claim him. “My strength shall be tested today it would seem.” he rasped not eager at the thought of fighting some nobody, when the king knew of their plans. Then he sensed it, just a glimpse of power trailing off, something beyond that of an alien. “Father what have you lowered yourself too?” was all he got manage to say as the connection he felt suddenly vanished. A rebel ran back into the room, holding his bloody chest. “He's....He's.... coming!” before he could explain himself the rebel fell over out cold.
“This must be the main chamber path, it seems to be going in a direct way all on its own!” Tokiuan said with relief of something finally going right. Then after what only seemed like minutes, what looked like the command room was in view. No caution, no worries Tokiuan opened the door walking into the room to proclaim his success. It wasn't like he'd been in any life threatening fights just yet. Before him the changeling turned around, eye narrow, staring him down with deadly intent. “So.. this is the bounty hunter I presume?” Tokiuan held the gaze, not answering at first. “Nothing personal, I just want off this planet with out fighting the cold army ya know?” The prince gritted his teeth together, holding back screams or tears, it was hard to tell.
“You come to kill the son of the king, doubting his power couldn't be equal, or ten fold? Only a fool accepts a deal without precise details of the fighting involved.” with that his muscles bulged, white flames engulfed his body, his power was soaring through the roof. Tokiuan did the same, in a quicker fashion, giving him the opportunity to strike. His fist slammed hard into the jaw of the prince, it barely staggered him at all. “Cute....” he replied wiping away at the few drops of blood. Tokiuan would not be treated in such a matter. He back up cautiously, charging all his energy into his hands for an attack.
The prince beckoned for the attack, waving a few finger eagerly. A fatal mistake, Tokiuan threw everything he had into the shot, sending the prince crashing through the wall and back out into the storm. Tokiuan took off after him, disregarding the raging storm he had already knocked his target into. “I'm not done with you yet!” Tokiuan roared grabbing the leg of the falling prince. With all his might, he threw him up into a higher mountain side, which swallowed him up in an awesome crater. The prince let out a shriek of rage, firing ki blasts in every direction. Tokiuan dodged them all, getting hit by the last one which knocked him down, his body sliding over the slick ice. The edge was rushing up to greet him, with mere seconds left, Tokiuan dug his nails in, dangling like a puppet over the massive drop that would cause death. “No-No!!!!” Tokiuan cried out not wanting it to end like this. The prince came flying out of the crater, seeing his attack hanging on so helplessly. “Time to clean up the trash my father yet again threw at me, the planet, our army!” with that he landed hard, his right foot clamping down on the demons hand. Tokiuan cried out in pain, not willing to let go, took it with great pleasure of pride.
“Any last words?” the prince said tilting his head to the side, how dare this changeling summon up arrogance. Tokiuan muttered so it would be impossible to hear. “What's that demon?” “Never take your eye off the surroundings!” With that Tokiuan released the energy he was storing, the ground around them both crumbled. The prince got ready to take flight, til something grabbed his hand. “No... I respect your mission, but mine is greater!” Tokiuan screamed with his fading voice, hurling the prince down into the landslide, watching his body vanish as thousands of tons of snow collided. Then it all thumped to the bottom, sliding out over the artic barrens landscape, creating twenty more feet of snow.
King cold sat patiently, growing tired of being so calm of the situation. What if that filthy demon went to join his bastard son? It would be too hard to swallow, shaming his legacy for years to follow. Planet Cold would never be the same if such a thing was allowed to unfold. Then, a slow knock at the door. The guard went to answer it, it swung open busting his face. “I-I told.... you would get yours, be thankful I never killed you!” Tokiuan laughed as blood flew out of his mouth. It could have easily been the guards fluids also. King cold locked eyes on him, not rising from his chair or screaming, only waiting for news of success. “You.... will state what happened, then we see how this shall unfold.” King cold said with icy eyes, either way someone would have been killed because of this mission.
Tokiuan managed to drag his own body to a distance of talking, then gave a sarcastic bow before the king. “The son...” “Yes?” King cold replied. “The battle...” “Yes!?” King cold rose from his throne actually walking up to the demon, face to face. “You will tell me what happened right now or else!” he screamed attracting a crowd of guards. “I watched him fall to his death, during the fight... I almost felt like the wrong side was being stopped here, not that it's a big issue.” Tokiuan stared down then met the glare of the king once more. This fool was actually confident to stand within striking distance, with a few weak bodies standing fifty feet away. King cold closed his eyes, letting out a sigh of praise. “As stated early, regardless if you want it or not, the cave is now open to you. I suggest you take time out of your.... schedule? To check it out.” King cold waved a hand in dismissal.
“Perhaps a ship to leave your planet?”Tokiuan wasn't sure what response this would get, he backed up a few meters preparing for a ballistic assault from the king. King cold raised his shoulders, lowering them slowly. “You will be thankful I offered as much as I have. To kill you in this room would be of no consequences to anyone, well except your meaningless journey through life.” King cold laughed then sat back down on his throne, acting like nobody else was in the room now. Tokiuan gave a sarcastic nod yet again, making his leave. The guards opened the door backing off, nobody wanted to get their face smashed in like the cocky one. “If I remain on this planet.... My name will be heard again, count on it.” Tokiuan held his stare, waiting. King cold never spoke, instead he gave a soft clap of humor which was hard to understand the meaning of.
