Guide to Races In the Dragonball: Retribution universe there are many races that a new member can choose from when creating a character, each with their own unique abilities, appearances, cultures and histories. Below is a list of each section and what is to be expected from within: 1) Starting Transformation - All races have one weak transformation to start. Some have more than one; if so, pick one. 2) Critical Condition Boost - Each race has a "critical condition" state that is applied when they are under 20% HP. This buff lasts until you either die, or are healed above 20% HP. For some races, there may be more than one; if so, pick one. 3) Disadvantages - Each race has a disadvantage, specific to your race. You're going to have to overcome it if you want to be the best fighter around. 4) Special Techniques - Some races have special moves. Some are innate, while others must be learned from masters of that race. 5) Racial Abilities - These are just cool special things your race can do. Sometimes there are more than one; if so, pick one.

Humans Planet: Earth. Appearance: Humans drastically vary from one to another in certain aspects such as height and weight, while things such as skin colour also vary depending on the regions in which the Humans live in on their planet. Other physical appearances such as eye and hair colour also differ from common colours to somewhat unusual ones; such as blue or purple. However, all humans share a almost identical base design. History: In it’s history, Earth has seen a great deal of pivotal events unfold upon its surface. The first recorded major incident being that of Evil King Piccolo’s invasion of the planet, and though the population know about the majority of the incidences, they are mostly unaware as to how they were prevented or eventually stopped. The Saiyans, Frieza, Cell and even Buu all played huge roles in the further development of Earth and the Human race, and despite many of them believing a false history revolving around Hercule Satan, it opened the eyes of many individuals to the realisation that people of such power truly existed, bringing about a new generation of fighters striving to surpass what was generally believed to be the limitations of the Human body. Culture: Primarily Humans are a peaceful, if somewhat lethargic race on the whole, with only a few exceptions to this rule; though there have been many who have been known to be violent and evil, and the planet has a basic military force. The majority of the Humans do not know how to manipulate Ki energy, or even know of its existence, and live mostly in blissful ignorance. It is mainly for this reason that the people of Earth have flocked in support to Hercule Satan, the “showboating blowhard” hero of Earth, who in truth is only a little more stronger than an averagely powered Human; the majority of Humans are also ignorant to Alien life in the same manner. However, the few that do know how to manipulate Ki have become some of the strongest warriors in the entire universe. Race-specific abilities:1) Transformations1-a) Determination - Costs 5% Ki per action+10% STR +10% END OR1-b) Enlightenment - Costs 5% Ki per action+10% STA +10% KI 2) Critical Condition BoostMartial Trance: -25% Damage Taken & -25% Ki cost 3) Disadvantage[/u] Fragile Body: Twice as likely to receive Bleed or Crush critical hits. 4) Special TechniquesTeamwork: +10% all stats for each human ally in battle. ORAdaptability: Can learn all techniques 25% faster. 5) Racial AbilitiesN/A.

Namekians Planet: Namek. Appearance: The Namekians appear to be somewhat slug or plant-like in appearance at first glance, mainly because of their antennae and green skin, respectfully. Their body has several circular patches across their bodies that are a different colour, a pinkish red for younger Namekians while a dull-orange for those of a far older age, with a red outline surrounding said patches. On average they’re a foot taller and more physical fit than most other humanoid races, though are not without their exceptions to the rule. Namekians also have pointed ears, which grant them to have a far more sensitive sense of hearing than most other races, allowing them to hear things at a great distance. History: Over 300 years ago the Namekian race was flourishing. They had a growing population and was making brilliant progress with technology. All that changed when a gigantic natural disaster in the shape of a tempest ravaged their world, killing all but one Namekian, Guru. Guru then single-handedly repopulated the Namekian race back towards fruition. After this the Namekians because a far more peaceful race, taking that major trait from Guru himself. After many years the evil alien known as Frieza arrived on the planet in search of the Dragonballs and after a battle of great power the planet was destroyed, though not before the Namekians were all transported to planet Earth. Shortly after the relocated to a new planet, aptly renamed New Namak. However, when the events of the Great Catastrophe took place, the original planet Namek was restored and the Namekians were returned to it. Culture: Namekians of this day and age have very little material needs, mostly shying away from technology or anything that distracts them from their pursuits of a peaceful lifestyle. They have no religion and follow the lead of their Guardian and father, Guru. Technically needing only water to survive, the Namekians do not generally grow food and mainly focus on restoring the planets former natural beauty, however they have been known to eat normal food on special occasions. Unlike most races within the universe, Namekians are asexual, meaning that they have no specific gender and reproduce by passing on their genetic legacy into an egg, which they then produce from their mouths. Typically, despite having no set gender, Namekians physically appear to be male. Race-specific abilities:1) TransformationsN/A. 2) Critical Condition BoostRegeneration: +1% Ki and +2% Fatigue per action. 3) DisadvantageAcute Hearing: Sound based attacks deal 400% damage and have stun critical. 4) Special TechniquesDragon Soul: Dragon Ball quests require halved word count (same reward). ORNamekian Tongue: Automatically know the Namekian Language; 40% off all Namekian store items. 5) Racial AbilitiesMystic Attack: See Techniques Page. Namekian Fusion: Can fuse with a dying Namekian ally to add 25% of his power level to your own (can only be used once).

Sayains Planet: Vegeta. Appearance: Outwardly the Saiyans are very much like Humans in appearance, though there are many subtle, and some not so subtle, differences. Amongst others, there are a few major differences that Saiyans have in comparison to Humans, such as having monkey-like tails that are extremely sensitive to the touch, to a debilitating extent, as well as Saiyans also largely have a much more naturally muscular body than Humans. Their hair is usually thick with an almost unkempt look to it, but for the pure-blooded of the species, once it grows to a specific design, mostly unique to each family or individual, it never grows beyond it. Their hair is mainly black in colour, though other colours such as different shades of brown, and even tints of blue, red and blonde have been known to occur. History: The history of the Saiyan race was mostly lost, and now the beginning of it resides with the story of the first Legendary Super Saiyan who could not control his immense strength and allowed his primal instincts to take over and in turn he destroyed the planet. It is not known if this story is true, but it is known that the Saiyans home world, name now lost, was indeed destroyed and eventually the Saiyans ended up on a planet called Plant, inhabited by a race called Tuffles. The Tuffles were an inferior race in body, but in mind they were superior, having created vast cities of technological advancements. The Saiyans were originally welcomed, but within a short time the Tuffles had enslaved them with their technology. As time passed the Saiyans hatred for their oppressors exploded and they fought back, starting a long war with the Tuffles. In time the war was ended with the planets lengthy lunar cycle reached a full moon, allowing the Saiyans to become Oozaru’s and finally win the war, mostly thanks to the strength and strategic brilliance of a lone Saiyan called Vegeta. Because of his war efforts Vegeta was made the Saiyan King and the planet was renamed to match his name in honouring him. However, the Saiyans reign on planet Vegeta was short. A powerful being known as Frieza forcibly hired the Saiyans into his service, but in time began to fear the Saiyans ever growing power, and so he destroyed all of them and their planet in one attack, only remnants lived on, scattered amongst the universe. Some time after the defeat of Buu the Saiyan race and planet Vegeta were wished back into existence, though after the Great Catastrophe certain aspects of the planet were reset, and a small portion of the Tuffle race were revived. Culture: Saiyans are a warrior race of immense pride, as such they mostly share many common personality traits with each other. They revel in conflict and battle, choosing violence and the thrill of fighting over peaceful interactions with other races; this is something that even infant Saiyans share. Arrogance is also another trait of Saiyans, a trait that will often help to cloud their judgement during heated moments, especially when angered, as they have an explosive temper to match their strength; even their weakest newborn babies are said to be stronger than an average fully grown Human. From birth the Saiyans are brought up on a diet of war and battle, akin to the Spartans of Earth’s history. They live and die for battle, with death preferable to the shame of losing to an inferior opponent. Due to their immense strength and aura, Saiyan bodies demand far more food to help maintain it at an optimum level of efficiency. Contrary to belief, Saiyans tend to gorge themselves before battle rather than afterwards, without any lessen effects to their bodies; in fact, it seemingly improves their fighting performances. A Saiyan with a tail who looks directly into the light of a full moon has the ability to transform into a giant ape, otherwise known as an Oozaru. Many Saiyans lack the ability to control themselves while in this form, instead reverting back to their primal instincts, however there are some who have learned control. Besides this racial transformation, it is Saiyan legend that they are also able to transform into something known as a ‘Super Saiyan’; this legend has since been proven by the Saiyans native to Earth. Race-specific abilities:1) TransformationsOozaru- Requires Full Moon, only can use physicals until trained+50% STR +50% STA +50% END -50% DEX 2) Critical Condition BoostSaiyan Pride: -25% Fatigue Drain, +25% damage increase. Aliens Planet: Cold. Appearance: Vague and varying, Aliens come in many shapes, sizes and species; far too many to categorise or list in great detail. History: As a basis, the history of the Icelings is relatively unknown, but what little is known shows that they have always been a greedy and power-hungry. Steadily they amassed more and more power, conquering entire planets and enslaving or destroying the inhabiting races. At one point the very same thing happened to the Saiyan race, but discovering the fact that the Saiyans were already doing something similar it was determined that the Saiyans could be used as mercenaries for their overall cause. This “mutual” relationship remain the same for several years, before Frieza finally betrayed the Saiyans and took their young Prince, setting in motion a series of events which lead to a brief Saiyan uprising and the destruction of their planet and race. Some time after the fall of the Saiyans the downfall of the Icelings began to take effect, starting with the death of Frieza at the hands of a surviving Saiyan called Goku. Frieza was saved, however, only for him and his father to finally meet their ends on Earth at the hands of another Saiyan, Trunks. Frieza’s elder brother, Cooler, also met his fate at the hands of Goku. This pretty much spelt the end of the Iceling royal line, and as an extension their empire. However, after the Great Catastrophe the royal line of the Iceling’s was restored, and their empire once again open to rebuilding, if it could be regrouped. Though one thing lays heavier on the Icelings than rebuilding their lost empire, and that’s revenge. Culture: Due to the many species, each with their own cultures, it is easier to focus on one of the most notorious Alien races, that one being most commonly known as Icelings or Changelings, the race of the powerful Overlord Frieza. Ruled by a royal line of power, the Icelings are a race of few, but despite their low numbers in comparison to other races, they are extremely powerful and share some interesting abilities with other Alien species. They are able to breath in the vacuum of space, as well as completely transform their physical form to become a far superior being. They are ruthless and without mercy of compassion., and while the Saiyans aren’t necessarily evil by nature, the Icelings are. Though their actions and nature do not stretch across all other Alien races, despite many of them serving underneath them in their organisation. Race-specific abilities:1) TransformationsBeast Form / Transformation 1+25% Any Stat (Choose upon start) 2) Critical Condition BoostRage: +25% Ki Drain, +25% Fatigue Drain; +75% Damage increase 3) DisadvantageKi Oblivion: Start with no ki-based techniques. Ki based techniques take 25% longer to learn. 4) Special TechniquesMiser: +50% Job Zenni, +50% Sell Prices ORTyrant: Reputation can be earned twice as quickly. Start with one henchman (100 stat points). 5) Racial AbilitiesSpacial Breathing: The ability to breath, and by it travel, through space (see travelling information).

Androids Planet: Earth. Appearance: An Androids appearance varies greatly depending on desires or the individual in question who is altered into a Cyborg. They can look completely Human in appearance, though can vary between having a Human base with cybernetic components or simply being completely robotic. History: Originally a large number of the Androids were built with a specific purpose, and that was to eliminate the Saiyan known as Goku. However, over the years more and more exceptional scientists learned of the knowledge involved in creating artificial life, enabling a new generation of Androids, with varying allegiance and purposes, to spread out into the universe. Though the Red Ribbon army was defeated and disbanded, and Doctor Gero originally killed, he has returned after the Great Catastrophe and has once again begun building his ruthless Androids. Culture: Androids, otherwise known as Artificial Humans, have been created by several different people across the universe, a large number of which a large number of the known ones being on planet Earth. Generally Androids use up far less energy than normal beings, mainly because they draw on it from an internal power source that’s replaceable. They are thought to live forever, or until damaged beyond repair, as well as having no visible aura of power, meaning that they cannot be sensed or found by using a Scouter. Race-specific abilities:1) Transformation2) Critical Condition BoostPinpoint Accuracy: Attacks are twice as hard to dodge. Demons Planet: Any. Appearance: Horns of varying shapes and sizes, claws, skin that comes in a verity of unusual colours such as grey, green, red or even scales, mean that Demons are a race of beings that vary in appearance more so than most. On average they stand at a height of seven to eight feet tall, with slender or overly muscular bodies, though far lower heights have been known with more rotund bodies. However, there have been Demons that have looked somewhat “normal” in the past, and could have easily been passed off as a Human, at a glance. History: The race known as Demons live in a place often referred to as the Demon Realm, or the Demon World, which is located at the very tip of the known universe, which is lead by individuals known as the Makaioshin, the opposite of Kaioshin, who are born with an evil-heart and banished to the Demon Realm. There have been many powerful Demon rulers throughout their history, and while the Demons mostly reside within their own realm they have, in the past, discovered pathways to other planets, such as Earth. Fear mostly beyond any other race, it is believe that if the Demons ever broke free from their realm in great numbers, that it could spell the end of peace throughout the universe. Culture: Demons are evil, mostly without remorse or mercy. Their society is primarily based around the strongest of them ruling as one of many Kings depending on the region of the Demon realm, akin to many other cultures and races, while the weaker of the Demons serve the stronger and fight amongst themselves for survival of the fittest. Even the weakest of the Demons are somewhat stronger than your average Human, as a rule of thumb, and while they are not born with the ability, all Demons are aware of Ki and the process of manipulating it. Race-specific abilities:1) TransformationsMajinCan Majin themselves and one other person to gain a boost of +5% all stats. Once Majin'd, the other player must follow the Demons orders, or be sent to the Next Dimension. 2) Critical Condition BoostChaos: Can inflict any critical effect on opponent (Chosen after reaching 20% HP). 3) DisadvantageDemonic Aura: All good aligned finishers will instantly kill on contact. Cannot go anywhere except for Hell within the Next Dimension. 4) Special TechniquesHeart of Evil: +30% all stats while fighting in Hell. ORBridge of Dimensions: Can go to the Next Dimension (Hell) at will, and can return from it a week early if banished (Or if we're doing a quest only return, its timed). 5) Racial AbilitiesStone Spit: Simply afflicted the opponent with the stun critical.

Hybrids If two races are similar enough physically and biologically then the compatibility of the two species allows them to breed, creating a child of two words. In these cases the child will always take the racial abilities of one race rather than both, though physical characteristics very often come from both species in varying amounts (Canon or Original Character who are Hybrids must pick one of the two races to gain racial abilities from, not both).
